Animal Bag

Animal bag – This is a bright animal backpack, sourced from a small family-run Guatemalan Workshop,  near Antigua.

The family, Cosas Chapinas, use traditional Mayan techniques and textiles.  These are rich in colour as found throughout the Mayan region of Guatemala. Importantly, they use natural dyes from plants and minerals of the local area. Ancient Mayan weaving techniques are used to produce these beautiful textiles.

The little backpack is perfect for carrying small items for travel or festivals, and comes in a choice of animal characters.

Animal Bag Specs

The backpack is approx 21cm tall and wide. It features two adjustable straps and a carry hook. Additionally, it has a zip close to keep valuables safe and is inner-lined for durability.

These are made to a very high standard. Each one is slightly different due to their hand-made nature. Furthermore, each may feature different textile colours to the gallery picture.

Here at Terrapin Trading, we support local crafts in indigenous areas by supporting traditional techniques. We love to combine this with contemporary and funky designs.
