Ayurvedic Copper Bottles Cleaning guidance

Copper darkens naturally. The copper vessel and requires cleaning from time to time. Use lemon juice or tamarind to rub the utensils. Leave it for few minutes and wash with water. Ayurveda recommends a simple, practical and effective method of drinking water in its most holistic way – drinking water from a copper vessel.

Background

Since ancient times Ayurveda has advocated the benefits of drinking water from a copper vessel. Ayurveda states that when you store water in a copper vessel it has the ability to balance all the three doshas (vata, kapha and pitta) in your body. This happens because the copper vessel positively charges the water. Scientifically speaking, when water is stored in a copper vessel for over eight hours, very small quantities of copper get dissolved in this water. This process is called “oligodynamic effect” and has the ability to destroy a wide range of harmful microbes, molds, fungi etc. due to the toxic effect it has on living cells.
