Batik Dress Beautiful size small – medium (uk10 – 14) vintage halter neck Babydoll style dress. Made in Ubud, Bali, by a skilled dressmaker from lots of individual patches of vintage, Batik cloth sewn together. The dress is 89cm long with a halter tie close. Elasticated 30″ – 36″ waist 30″ – 34″ bust Loose and flowing Colour – each dress is unique & different, but generally the skirts come in rough shades of pinks, greens, or browns. Made by by a talented dressmaker (Ema) with whom we have built a successful and ongoing small business relationship. Her workshop is based in Bali, Indonesia. These are made from patches of new batik material. Batik is an art form in itself in Indonesia. Its a technique to dye fabrics using wax to create unique designs. This item is made from increasingly rare vintage batik patches. you can spot the difference between old and new batik by the vibrancy of the colours. Vintage batik cloth is in more muted colours.
