Peacock Feather Bhumpa
Buddhist Peacock Feather Brush for Bhumpa. These peacock feathers are used as an ornament in Bumpa, or can be used to move insects out the way to avoid crushing them when walking; to clear your space when sitting down to relax; or to practice yoga.

Peacocks are considered domestic animals and are widespread in Pakistan, Nepal, India and even Sri Lanka. They roam freely on footpaths, temples and monasteries, and are considered sacred in Buddhist regions. During annual moults, the long males’ feathers fall to the ground and are collected to serve as ornaments for ritual objects such as bumpas.

At Terrapin Trading, our ornaments are purchased from Boudenath temple in Kathmandu from the same craftsmen who supply the many other Buddhist temples and monasteries of Nepal, Tibet and India.
