Sioux Drum

30cm diameter Sioux Drum. Made from wood, leather skin and cord. Comes with stick.

The most important Native American instrument was and still is the drum, as you can tell by going to any powwow or Indian event. Different tribes have different traditions about the drum and how to play it, but the basic construction is very similar in most tribes: a wooden frame or a carved and hollowed-out log, with finely tanned skin stretched taut across the opening by sinew thongs.

Please note there will differences in design as they are hand made and painted with different patterns.

The designs are similar as in picture. Symbol or animal in the middle will vary. The animal or design in the centre will vary.

We will send a random design as they are all different but all are beautiful.

They are based on the classic drums of the American tribes such as the Sioux and Navajo. These lovingly reproduced drums combine all the traditional elements. They are made by a family run business and we sourced the product personally from Nanang and his family.
