From the 1930’s to the 1970’s the Porkpie was associated with the “be-bop” Jazz Musicians and African American blues. For a long time, the Porkpie was associated with the smoky underworld of the Jazz nightclubs, and latterly with the Ska, Reggae and Rude Boy scene. A nod to the rebellious, the underground & the alternative, both in style and in music.
