Please note colour may vary from that pictured – the shawls are unique and so are listed under a general category of colour – We have found listing each variation individually impractical so are now listing in the general style or colour- can be returned if not suitable. If it says oranges then it encompasses a range of stripey orange blankets. If it says light stripy it includes a variety of light coloured stripy blankets. Please do not purchase if this is not ok and you are welcome to return blankets as per our standard policy.

Background

Yak fibre is the term commonly used to refer yak fibre wool produced from the coat hair of yaks (Bos grunniens), a long-haired bovine mainly found in the Himalayan region, Tibetan plateau, and some areas of Mongolia and Central Asia.

Yak fiber wool has been used by nomads in the Trans-Himalayan region for over a thousand years to make clothing, tents, ropes and blankets.
