Hand made and made from yaks wool blend. Crafted in the Himalayan mountains by a small community of Tibetan artisans.

Not factory made, not mass produced. Keep warm this winter, or give a funky, quality gift that you won’t find in high street stores.

Please note colours may vary from that pictured – the shawls are unique and so are listed under a general category of colour – We have found listing each variation individually impractical so are now listing in the general style or colour- can be returned if not suitable. e.g. the blue may have some yellow in it etc. If it says oranges then it may encompass a range of orange blankets which may have other colours within the pattern.

We have to do this because each Yak Wool Throw is unique and it is impossible to list every one individually.

Background

Yak fibre is the term commonly used to refer yak fibre wool produced from the coat hair of yaks (Bos grunniens), a long-haired bovine mainly found in the Himalayan region, Tibetan plateau, and some areas of Mongolia and Central Asia.

Yak fiber wool has been used by nomads in the Trans-Himalayan region for over a thousand years to make clothing, tents, ropes and blankets.
